Scaffolding, sheds, barriers and fencing for Bronx buildings, with a 2022 job at 932 Bronx Park South and DOB filings handled.
We install scaffolding in the Bronx for owners and managers of apartment and mixed-use buildings, and for the general contractors who work on them.
The borough’s building stock changes from corridor to corridor: Art Deco apartment houses along the Grand Concourse, prewar walk-ups around Fordham and Kingsbridge, long brick complexes like Parkchester, storefront rows on Fordham Road and Arthur Avenue, and the towers of Co-op City. A Concourse parapet and a Co-op City tower need different rigs.
Most calls start with a loose parapet, a Local Law 11 finding or a DOB order. We file the permits and help address project-related violations and required filings.
Find your building below. A site survey makes the final call.
| Your building | What the wall looks like | What usually goes up |
|---|---|---|
| Art Deco and prewar apartment houses (Grand Concourse, Fordham, Kingsbridge) | Brick and terra-cotta fronts with stepped parapets, ornament, and projecting trim | Pipe scaffolding where the wall steps or carries ornament, and frame scaffolding on the plain runs |
| Large brick complexes (Parkchester and similar) | Long, uniform brick elevations, one building after another | Frame scaffolding on the flat runs, a shed along the sidewalk side, and swing stages on the taller buildings |
| Storefront rows and low-rise mixed-use (Fordham Road, Arthur Avenue) | Two- to four-story fronts with shops at street level | Frame scaffolding with a sidewalk shed over the storefront walk |
| High-rise apartment towers (Co-op City) | Tall, repetitive elevations with balconies | Swing stages hung from the roof, with a shed at street level |
Local Law 11 covers buildings taller than six stories. Many Bronx walk-ups stand at six stories or lower and fall below that line, while the complexes and towers above sit inside it.

NYC DOT suspends street permits in busy areas at certain times. During an embargo, DOT says, “all active permits in the affected area(s) are suspended and no new permits may be approved” without a DOT waiver. Emergency work is the exception, and it goes ahead once the permittee has an emergency number.
The holiday embargo runs from November 15, 2026 through January 2, 2027, from 6:00am to 11:59pm. That is seven weeks. DOT’s Bronx list includes:
This list is partial. DOT’s page includes more Bronx streets and areas. Check the official NYC DOT construction embargo page for complete boundaries before you schedule installation, alteration or removal.
When the Yankees host post-season home games, DOT embargoes the area bounded by East/West 169th Street on the north, East 138th Street on the south, the Grand Concourse on the east and the Harlem River on the west. The embargo also reaches segments of the Major Deegan Expressway, the Bruckner Expressway and the bridges that feed the stadium. DOT posts each year’s dates on its embargo page.
DOT also embargoes streets for the NYC Marathon and other events, and posts the dates and routes on its construction embargo page. In the Bronx the marathon route follows the Willis Avenue Bridge and parts of East 135th to 141st Streets, Alexander Avenue and 3rd Avenue.
DOT’s page does not say how embargoes treat sidewalk sheds or scaffolds. If your job falls on an embargo corridor, call us before you set the schedule.

A damaged shed or an unsafe scaffold cannot wait for morning. Call any hour. We answer 24/7. Response and arrival times depend on the location, site conditions and crew availability.
