Scaffolding for Brooklyn buildings

We install scaffolding in Brooklyn for the owners and managers of its buildings and for the contractors working on them. A facade repair, a Local Law 11 finding or a DOB order is what usually sends someone looking. We file the permits and help address project-related violations and required filings.

What we put up in Brooklyn

Pipe scaffolding for work on a building’s face, and sidewalk sheds where people walk below. Barriers and fencing go up with either when the site needs them.

Who we work for

Owners, co-op and condo boards, property managers of residential and mixed-use buildings, and general contractors who need a scaffold or shed sub.

Our 2026 sidewalk shed on East 27th Street

The job

This year we installed a sidewalk shed on East 27th Street in southern Brooklyn, NY 11229. It is our newest job, and it is the one we would show a Brooklyn owner first.

Sidewalk shed permits now run 90 days

The city’s 90-day permit rule for sidewalk sheds took effect in early 2026. Under it, a shed permit has to be renewed every 90 days. Our sidewalk shed permits page explains the rule and what renewal involves, so we will not repeat it here.

Shed permit coming up for renewal? Call before the 90 days run out: (718) 581-4370.

Brooklyn street embargoes

Updated October 2026

NYC DOT suspends street permits in busy areas at certain times. During the holiday embargo, DOT says, “all routine work shall be suspended” without its approval. Emergency work is the exception, and it goes ahead once the permittee has an emergency number.

Holiday embargo corridors

The embargo runs from November 15, 2026 through January 2, 2027, from 6:00am to 11:59pm. DOT’s Brooklyn list includes:

  • Downtown Brooklyn, the area bounded by Tillary Street, Atlantic Avenue, Flatbush Avenue and Clinton Street, all inclusive
  • Flatbush Avenue, from the Manhattan Bridge to the Belt Parkway
  • 86th Street, from 3rd Avenue to Stillwell Avenue
  • Kings Highway, from Bay Parkway to Ocean Avenue
  • Avenue U, from 86th Street to Stuart Street
  • Nostrand Avenue, from Halsey Street to Sheepshead Bay
  • Sheepshead Bay Road, from Avenue Z to Shore Parkway
  • Brighton Beach Avenue, from Ocean Parkway to Brighton 15 Street
  • Bedford Avenue, from Metropolitan Avenue to North 12th Street

This list is partial. DOT’s page includes many more Brooklyn streets and areas, among them 13th and 18th Avenues, Fulton Street and Atlantic Avenue. Check the official NYC DOT construction embargo page for complete boundaries before you schedule installation, alteration or removal.

The marathon route

The NYC Marathon embargo runs October 23 through November 1, 2026. In Brooklyn the route goes from the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge up 4th Avenue, Flatbush Avenue, Lafayette Avenue, Bedford Avenue, Manhattan Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard to the Pulaski Bridge.

Sheds and scaffolds

DOT’s page does not say how embargoes apply to sidewalk sheds or scaffolds. If your job falls near these dates, call us before you set the schedule.

Filings and the Brooklyn DOB office

Filings go through DOB NOW: Build, online and citywide, and we handle them. We cannot promise how DOB will rule, but we handle the required filings and help address project-related violations.

For in-person business, the Brooklyn borough office is at 345 Adams Street, 3rd Floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201. Walk-in availability can vary by service, so check the DOB office locations page for current hours before you visit.

Emergency response in Brooklyn

If a shed is damaged or a scaffold looks wrong, call any hour. We answer 24/7. Response and arrival times depend on the location, site conditions and crew availability. If the building sits inside an embargo area, emergency work can still go ahead once the permittee holds a DOT emergency number.

Services we provide in Brooklyn

Sheds lead in Brooklyn because our newest job there was one, and a shed comes with the city’s 90-day permit.

Our sidewalk sheds in Brooklyn are the service behind the East 27th Street job from 2026. For work on the building itself we install scaffolding in Brooklyn, and suspended scaffolding is available for taller buildings. Jersey barriers and temporary fencing close off the site when it needs it.
